Gallix Production

Since 1986 Gallix has been producing documentary films and short fiction films. It also participates in the realization of programs on art, broadcast on the Japanese television channels.
In 2006 Gallix began to produce the documentary series "Impressions fortes" assisted by the Bibliothèque nationale de France (French National Library).

A documentary series focusing on great masterpieces of engraving, of Dürer, Rembrandt or Goya, to be downloaded in HD or to be ordered in DVD.

Films by Bertrand Renaudineau and Gérard Emmanuel da Silva with the cooperation of Maxime Préaud, honorary chief curator of the prints department at French National Library in Paris.

Each film focuses on a key print of an Old Master, such as Dürer’s Knight, Death and the Devil or Goya’s The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters. Unlike the naked eye, the camera lens lets no detail, however small, escape notice.
Each film of this unique collection features a contemporary engraver whose work is intimately related to the Old Master in question.
To date, eight films have been produced, from Dürer to Toulouse-Lautrec. They examine the different techniques of stamp making, from etching, lithography and engraving to aquatint and drypoint.
The first seven films are available in a box set.
